Sue Mackey

Education Specialist

Hi Everyone! I started in education when I was 18 years old as a SPED para-professional. I did that for ten years while starting my family. Then, I went to college at the University of California, Riverside, and earned a Bachelor's of Liberal Arts. In my 5th year, I earned my dual credentials in general education and mild to moderate special education. I transferred to California Baptist University to earn my Master's of Education, a reading certificate, and two more credentials in cross-cultural language development and moderate to severe SPED. I love being an education specialist! I became an official SPED teacher in 1996.

As you may have noticed, I love learning. I spent many years in college, and I studied many fun things (to me at least). I studied history and ancient civilizations, film, and literature, along with cognition for my specialties in education.  I love nature and hiking. I have a wonderful son named Benjamin. He is my pride and joy. I have a cat and two dogs. I love fine arts and music!

What I admire most about all the students at Real Journey is the respect they show to the staff and to me. It is so refreshing to see true scholarship and dedication to improving every day! I feel like I'm making a difference in the lives of future citizens. I truly enjoy working with the scholars at iEmpire!
